Pacific Racing
Race day at Pacific Raceways. Race 7 and 8 for 2020. Some people thought we wouldn’t have any races, but here we are.
Eleven Super Street racers came to Pacific Raceways for the Saturday event. We got to sit for about 3 hours while the sky decided to fall down to the ground. Allen Macham, Dave Wakefield, Dustin Martin, Jay Schmid, Jess Dale, Justin Sibley, Lloyd Flatum, Michelle Lewis, Patrick Carroll, Todd Sims, and Frank Nelson Jr stayed dry until it was to time to qualify. This race was sponsored by Robert’s Floor Covering. One qualifying pass later, Dave Wakefield was #1 with a 10.916.
After some more moisture fell from the sky, we got started on round one.
Wakefield had the bye. Sibley then took out Dale with a better lite. Lewis forced Carrell to break out. Martin had a great .010 package to take out Flatum. Macham used a .011 light to force Sims to break out. Nelson won when Schmid had some trouble on the start line and was a little late.
Round two got started some time later. Martin beat Wakefield. Macham went 10.895 to Lewis’s 10.775 for the win. Nelson won when Sibley went red.
In the semi final round, Macham won when Martin went 10.895 and Nelson had the bye into the final
So, in the final round, it was Macham and Nelson. Double break out race. Macham had the better light and went 10.897 for the win. Congratulations to Allen Macham for the win. Thanks again to Robert’s Floor Covering for the sponsorship.
Sunday came and the weather had cleared up. We had 12 racers for the Handler’s Racing Association sponsored race. Allen Macham, Dave Wakefield, Jay Schmid, Jess Dale, Justin Sibley, Lloyd Flatum, Michelle Lewis, Patrick Carroll, Todd Sims, Bill Carrell, Kevin Jellum, and Frank Nelson Jr.
First round started before noon. Wakefield won when Schmid went red. Dale also won when B Carrell went red. Lewis took out Flatum with a .012 lite. Macham won when Sibley went too quick. P Carrell moved to round two when Nelson went red. Sims won when Jellum went red.
In round two, P Carrell had a slightly better light and stayed ahead of Sims for the win. Macham defeated Lewis. Dale overcame a worse light to win against Wakefield.
The semi final round had P Carrell racing Dale. Carrel went 10.900 for the win. Macham had the bye into the final.
Second final round of the weekend for Macham. Could he pull off a double win? P Carrell had the better light .002 to .008. But Macham was closer to the index 10.866 to 10.841. Macham for the win and a double up for the weekend! Good job Allen Macham and thanks again to Handler’s Racing Association for the extra moolah.
Only four races left in the season.
Our next event is at Pacific Raceways on August 29 and 30.
Be there or be square.
