Season Opener at Pacific

Let’s go racing. Starting the year out at Pacific Raceways. Great weather, but there is a 5pm curfew on Saturday.

So, we had twelve racers pay into the pot. Allen Macham, Bill Carrell, Dave Wakefield, Dennis Boley, Jess Dale, Luke Cavar, Michelle Lewis, Patrick Carrell, Todd Sims, Becky Brown, Tony Hopkins, and David Monsaas.

One qualifying pass and Miss Becky Brown got the Number One spot. Roberts Floor Covering was the event sponsor and Snap-On Tools the #1 sponsor.

Round one to the lanes. Todd got the win when David M went red by .005. David W used a .009 to defeat Michelle. Once again, the Carrell’s managed to race themselves first round. Bill was the winner this time around using a better light to force Patrick to break out. Tony had a .005 to beat Luke, Becky had the bye, and Allen got around Jess with a 10.905 run.

On the round two.

David W beat Todd in a double break out race. Tony was the winner when Bill went red, and Miss Brown got around Allen because he broke out.

Semi final time and time is running out. David W got the win when Becky was a little late and Tony got the bye.

Then the curfew hit and so Tony and David W split the win/runner-up money.

Thanks to Roberts Floor Covering and Snap-On Tools.

After the race we gave out the 2020 awards. Allen Macham is the 2020 series champion. Way to go Allen.

Sunday started out much better. Except for the timing issue in the left lane during qualifying. We got the system fixed and had to run the qualifying session over.

Bremerton Raceway was the event sponsor.

Allen Macham, Bill Carrell, Dave Wakefield, Dennis Boley, Jess Dale, Michelle Lewis, Patrick Carrell, Todd Sims, Becky Brown, Tony Hopkins, and David Monsaas paid their money to race. After the qualifying was over, Allen was on top with a 10.906.

Round one started with Todd taking out Tony. In the battle of the women, Michelle forced Becky to break out. David W won when Allen turned on the red eye. David M also won when Jess light the dratted red light. Then in strange, weird circumstance, the Carrell’s once again faced each other in round one. Patrick got the win this time when Bill went red.

Round two round David W with the bye. Patrick took out David M in a double break out affair. And Todd beat up on Michelle with a 10.909 run.

In the semifinal round, Todd went 10.909 again and David W went red. Patrick had the bye

Coming up on the curfew, it was time for the final. Patrick went .002, Todd went .004. Patrick went 10.888, Todd went 10.887. Patrick is the winner.

Congratulations to Patrick.

The next race is May 1 and 2 at Pacific Raceways. There will be no potluck at the event.
