Pacific Summer Fun

Where do I start. The number 1- and 3-point leaders were not in attendance at Pacific Raceway for race 9 and 10 of the season. That left the door open for some of the other racers to move into the lead. So, eleven came and raced.

Bill Carrell, Dave Wakefield, Dennis Boley, Jay Schmid, Jeff Jackson, Justin Sibley, Michelle Lewis, Patrick Carrell, Todd Sims, Luke Cavar, and John Ermish were there and made two qualifying passes. This race was sponsored by FBN Racing. After qualifying, Michelle Lewis got the Snap On prize for a 10.901 run.

Round one action! P Carrell lost to Jackson, who went 10.907. Sibley was a little late and B Carrel took the win light. Schmid broke out against Wakefield. Boley misjudged the finish line and let Sims have the win light. Cavar went 10.918 to beat Ermish. Lewis had the bye

Round two started with Jackson going 10.901 to force Lewis to break out. Then Wakefield broke out against Sims. And B Carrell used a great .003 light for force Cavar to break out.

Semi final time. Jackson moved to the final with a 10.903 to Sims breaking out. B Carrell had the bye.

In the final, Jackson went 10.900 but lost due to B Carrell having a .010 better package. Jackson gave up too much on the tree. Way to go Bill Carrell! Thanks to FBN Racing and Snap On Tools.

Sunday came bright and early. Race was sponsored by Archer Construction. Almost everyone stayed to race. Ten racers this time. The ten were Bill Carrell, Dave Wakefield, Dennis Boley, Jay Schmid, Jeff Jackson, Justin Sibley, Michelle Lewis, Patrick Carrell, Todd Sims, and Luke Cavar.

Two qualifying sessions later, Bill Carrell was number one with a 10.900.

In round one we find Lewis and Sims doing battle. Sims took the win. Then the Carrell’s had to run each other, and B Carrell forced P Carrell to break out. Wakefield had the better light and beat Sibley. Cavar and Schmid both turned on the red light, but Cavar was only -.003 and took the win. Jackson moved to round two because Boley could not make the call, due to mechanical issues.

Round two started with Jackson mowing over Wakefield. The Sims used a better light to beat Cavar. B Carrell had the bye.

Jackson had the bye into his second final of the weekend. Sims went 10.906 for better B Carrell.

The 2019 champion, Sims, in the final against Jackson. Could Jackson win one? Sims went .011, Jackson went .015 and both went 10.904. Sims the winner by .004. So, Sims moves into first place with two races left. But Macham still has two races to claim, so it is still a close one. Way to go Todd Sims. Thanks to Archer Construction and Snap On tools.

Our next event is at Woodburn Dragstrip on September 19 and 20.

Be there or be square.
